Mission Statement

Softball Jobs Overseas (SBJO) is a hands-on service connecting female fastpitch players with clubs seeking imports players from around the world, mostly in Europe and New Zealand but also in Australia, Taiwan, Japan, South America and South Africa.

History

The origins of SBJO date back to 2013 when our parent company, Baseball Jobs Overseas started receiving fastpitch softball inquires and had its first signing, Lisa Maulden. At the time, the demand for import female fastpitch players was so minimal, that it did not warrant creating a second website.

In 2015, Lisa joined BBJO as our Recruitment Manager as we stepped up our efforts to grow the softball side of our company. There has been steady growth ever since, but mostly on the demand side, meaning the number of opportunities continued to grow as teams looked to bring over players and coaches, but our database of fastpitch players seemed to remain stagnant. Fast forward to 2021, with an expansion to our marketing team and Sarah Edwards taking over for a very busy Lisa as our Recruitment Manager, it was time to focus on growth for SBJO, starting with the launch of the SBJO Instagram account. Since these efforts, our database has doubled and we have launched this temporary website, which still links to the pre-filtered list of players and teams at BBJO, but is a big step in SBJO having its own identity as we work on the stand-alone website.

Today, there is still more demand than supply and a great opportunity for fastpitch players to extend their career professionally while travelling the world.
